According to BlockBeats, on August 18, Nvidia supplier Fabrinet reported strong earnings and better-than-expected guidance, but due to weak performance in its data communications and other businesses, coupled with overall pressure on AI infrastructure stocks, the company's stock price fell by more than 11% in pre-market trading, reaching $531.48.

Fabrinet reported adjusted earnings per share of $4.10 for its fourth fiscal quarter, exceeding market expectations of $3.81. Revenue grew 45% year-over-year to $1.32 billion, also surpassing analysts' expectations of $1.28 billion. The company projects adjusted earnings per share of $4.10 to $4.25 and revenue of $1.375 billion to $1.425 billion for its first fiscal quarter, both exceeding market expectations.

The strong performance was primarily driven by demand from data centers. CEO Seamus Grady stated that customer demand currently shows "no end in sight." However, the company's data communications revenue declined 1% sequentially to $258 million, while its high-performance computing revenue grew 11% sequentially to $118 million, raising concerns among investors. B. Riley lowered its price target for Fabrinet from $635 to $598 and maintained a "neutral" rating.

Fabrinet is also a major supplier to Nvidia, but B. Riley data shows that its revenue from Nvidia in fiscal year 2026 declined by 21% year-on-year to $742 million. While Barclays and JPMorgan Chase raised their target prices to $739 and $695 respectively, they also pointed out concerns about the data communications and high-performance computing businesses.

As of the market opening on August 18, Fabrinet had risen 31% year-to-date and over 80% in the past 12 months.

According to BlockBeats, on August 18th, Metaplanet will inject 2,100 BTC, worth approximately $132 million, into Nasdaq-listed Super League (SLE), along with an additional $2.5 million in cash. Super League will be renamed "Superplanet," and its stock ticker is proposed to be changed to SUPA.

Following the completion of the transaction, Metaplanet is expected to hold approximately 95.7% of Superplanet's shares, creating a U.S.-listed Bitcoin treasury platform to raise funds through the U.S. capital market.

Superplanet plans to enter the growing "digital credit" market by issuing dollar-denominated perpetual preferred stock to raise funds and use the proceeds to further purchase Bitcoin, while relying on dollar reserves and operating cash flow to support dividend payments.

Metaplanet stated that the strategy aims to increase the amount of BTC per Superplanet share and, at the group level, increase the amount of Bitcoin held per Metaplanet share. This structure will create two publicly listed Bitcoin treasury platforms within the group, one in Japan and one in the United States, allowing them to continuously increase their BTC holdings through the capital markets of both locations.
