According to Odaily Planet Daily, Brian Armstrong stated in an article published on the X platform that gold, silver, and crude oil can now be traded 24/7 directly on Coinbase as perpetual contracts.

According to Odaily Planet Daily, Brian Armstrong stated in an article on the X platform that the CLARITY Act is a bipartisan effort aimed at establishing clear rules for cryptocurrencies in the United States. Armstrong said the bill will provide more tools for consumer protection, law enforcement to combat bad actors, and bringing cryptocurrencies under U.S. regulation. He also noted that the bill includes several pages of new authorization for banks to integrate stablecoins and cryptocurrencies, which he believes will help the U.S. maintain its status as a financial and technology hub, creating economic growth, jobs, and tax revenue. He added that this week will see which senators will vote in favor of the bill.
Coinbase launches WTI and Brent crude oil perpetual futures contracts for qualified non-US traders.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Coinbase announced on its X platform that it will bring the world's largest crude oil benchmark to Coinbase. WTI and Brent crude oil perpetual futures are now available to qualified non-US traders, supporting 24/7 trading, USDC settlement, and no expiration date.
Trump says Strait of Hormuz may reopen no later than tomorrow, Iran negotiations enter second phase.
According to BlockBeats, on August 4, US President Trump stated that US-Iran negotiations are progressing rapidly, and the two sides are discussing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which "may reopen as late as tomorrow."
Trump stated that the first phase of negotiations aimed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while the second phase would focus on Iran's denuclearization. He indicated that if anyone attempted to charge fees in the Strait of Hormuz, "the United States will charge them," and emphasized that Iran would not be allowed to collect fees in the strait.
Trump also stated that this is Iran's "last chance," and that the negotiations are currently being conducted at Iran's request, with the results likely to be announced today or tomorrow.
Previously, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz remained high, and the market closely watched its impact on global energy supply and oil price trends.
Analysis: After Trump's repeated threats and concessions, the Iranian leadership believes that he does not want to escalate the war.
According to BlockBeats, on August 4th, CBS reported that Iran also seems increasingly skeptical of Trump's "carrot and stick" diplomacy. In April, Trump warned Tehran that it must agree to a ceasefire or "the whole civilization will perish," but subsequently extended the deadline.
In May and June, he employed a similar tactic again. Iranian sources say this approach reinforced the country's leadership's assessment that Trump was not seeking to escalate the conflict, but rather to gain leverage in negotiations.
They believe Iran can withstand pressure and increase the costs borne by the United States through proxy forces (such as the Houthi rebels in Yemen) and by threatening global shipping, until Washington concludes that there is no military solution to the conflict. Tehran's current assessment is that time is on their side.
