According to BlockBeats, on September 1st, Binance founder CZ attended Bitcoin Asia 2026 in Hong Kong and gave an exclusive interview to Hong Kong 01, recounting his personal experience and investment philosophy. CZ was born in rural Jiangsu, immigrated to Canada at the age of 12, worked at McDonald's and a gas station in Vancouver, later studied computer science at McGill University, and worked in fintech in Tokyo and New York. By the age of 25, he was leading a team of approximately 60 people at Bloomberg, earning an annual salary of $390,000.

In 2005, CZ went to Shanghai to found a fintech company, but left after eight years with his stake worthless. After getting involved with Bitcoin in 2013, he sold his Shanghai property and invested the funds in Bitcoin; subsequently, the price plummeted by about two-thirds and then traded sideways for about a year and a half. In 2017, CZ founded Binance, raising $15 million through an ICO; the platform's token fell 40% on its first day of listing, but Binance became the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume within about five months of its founding.

CZ stated that most of his personal assets are currently in cryptocurrencies, and he adheres to the "four no's" financial management principle: no buying stocks, no speculating on real estate, no speculating on cryptocurrencies, and no holding too much cash. Among these, "no speculating on cryptocurrencies" does not mean not holding any cryptocurrencies, but rather not engaging in short-term trading. His strategy is mainly to hold them for the long term, only selling a small amount of assets when he needs to consume them.

Regarding real estate, CZ believes that buying, transferring ownership, and selling require a significant time investment, making the associated time costs unworthy. As for stocks, he stated that given his large asset size, allocating a small amount to stocks has limited significance. He also called holding fiat currency "the dumbest investment," as cash continuously depreciates; therefore, he only keeps funds for daily needs and exchanges them only when necessary. He also shared his decision-making framework: large-scale and irreversible decisions should be slowed down, while smaller and reversible decisions can be executed quickly and continuously revised.

CZ stated that it currently primarily invests in early-stage projects through YZiLabs, continuing to inject capital during market downturns. In the past six months, YZiLabs has invested in nearly 200 projects, with approximately 80% focusing on Web3 and 20% on AI. CZ believes these investments are likely to yield good returns over the next one to two years.
