With the transition period ending on July 1st, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has required unauthorized platforms to cease providing services to EU clients. Ghoos pointed out that currently, about 60% of European crypto users are still using platforms without MiCA authorization, and most platforms have no hope of obtaining authorization. Of the 27 EU member states, 20 have completed their transition period, and companies not listed in the registration directory after July 1st will not be able to legally provide services in the EU.
