According to Beating AI News, TypeSafe, founded by former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida, just released its new model, Jev, yesterday. It doesn't generate text; it only returns options, scores, and probabilities. A number of open-source projects quickly emerged in the community, starting to incorporate Jev into agents and software processes.
The most intuitive implementation of jev-ultrafast, built using Browser Use, is as follows: Each time the browser moves, Jev determines "what to do next and which element to manipulate" based on the current page, only invoking a small language model when text is required. The team used it to search for flights from Zurich to London on Google Flights, and a complete run took only 7.1 seconds.
Jev Codex Router allows Jev to first determine the difficulty of each round of programming tasks and then decide which model to assign it to; jev-mcp then turns it into a fact-checking, prompt injection detection, and semantic ranking tool for the agent.
These projects have one thing in common: no one treats Jev as a chatbot, but rather stuffs it into the execution chain of software and agents, specifically responsible for making judgments on high-frequency, limited options.
