Layer-2 Network Mantle Partners With LayerZero for Cross-Chain Bridges, Advanced DeFi Experiences
Mantle (MNT), a Layer-2 scaling solution, today announced an important strategic collaboration with LayerZero, a prominent multi-chain composability platform. On its synergy with LayerZero, Mantle seeks to redefine how its flagship token, MNT, interacts with other chains, making it seamless for customers and builders to transfer assets and data across various chains.
Mantle is an EVM-layer-2 scaling network that operates to combine DeFi with TradFi and make applications more rapid, affordable, and efficient for clients and builders. On the other hand, LayerZero is a leading interoperability network that allows DApps to move assets across various blockchains.
LayerZero Helps Mantle to Interact With Other Chains
The core of this alliance involves the integration of LayerZero’s omnichain interoperability infrastructure into Mantle’s Layer-2 network to enhance Mantle’s cross-chain operations and unlock liquidity for its MNT across DeFi. This coalition introduces a multi-chain liquidity layer on Mantle, powered by LayerZero’s innovative messaging layer.
This integration now enables Mantle’s native token, MTN, to be accessed across both EVM and non-EVM blockchains, utilizing LayerZero’s OFT (Omnichain Fungible Token) Standard. This implies that MNT clients and builders now have a seamless approach to connect to other chains, starting with HyperEVM, including leading networks such as Ethereum, BNB, and many others. Over time, the collaboration will broaden its accessibility to multiple chains, making Mantle one of the most interoperable protocols in the globe.
This alliance will significantly benefit developers working on the Mantle network. The integration now enables them to deploy assets on Mantle from any of LayerZero’s supported blockchains using just one click. This saves time, minimizes costs, and makes it more efficient for builders to develop applications that function across various chains.
Why This Alliance Important: Advancing Decentralized Interoperability
The blockchain environment is experiencing rapid growth, with more than 4,400 chains and Layer-2 protocols in existence currently, as per metrics from DefiLlama. However, this advancement has created one major challenge: fragmentation. Each blockchain functions in isolation, with its own standards, tokens, and customers. This makes it difficult for Web3 users to transfer assets and data between blockchains, hindering the capability of the decentralized technology.
Mantle’s incorporation with LayerZero is a development made to resolve this problem. By linking to numerous blockchains, Mantle helps to build a more interoperable, decentralized ecosystem where Web3 customers and developers across different networks can engage without hindrances. This is set to contribute to:
- Greater innovations: Builders on the Mantle network can develop DApps that function across numerous blockchains, contributing to advanced solutions.
- Superior customer experiences: Mantle customers won’t have to use several platforms and wallets to engage with DApps from other chains.
- Heightened acceptability: As the Web3 world becomes more simplified and seamless to utilize, more clients, including mainstream individuals, may step into the decentralized ecosystem to take advantage of its offerings.
