Singapore-based stablecoin payments firm dtcpay has completed a US$25 million Series A round , the company announced on September 18. The raise was first led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India in April 2026 and is now anchored by Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Group, which is investing through its subsidiary SBI Ventures Asset and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek also participated.

Who Backed the Round

Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India led dtcpay’s Series A in April 2026, and SBI Group’s entry anchors the extension to US$25 million. SBI is deploying capital through two vehicles — SBI Ventures Asset Pte Ltd and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund — a structure that signals a strategic bet on stablecoin payments rather than a purely financial position. Genedant Capital joined the round, alongside Kwee Liong Tek, a prominent Singapore business leader who was already an existing investor.

What dtcpay Builds

Founded by Alice Liu and Band Zhao, dtcpay bridges digital assets and traditional finance through infrastructure that lets businesses and individuals accept, store and transact in stablecoins. Its real-time swap engine settles across stablecoin and fiat currencies, sidestepping the multi-day settlement cycles and intermediary fees of SWIFT and correspondent banking. The company launched a Digital Payment Token point-of-sale solution, integrated early with WalletConnect to extend acceptance across more than 700 wallets, and worked with Visa on a stablecoin-to-fiat Visa Infinite card accepted at over 150 million merchants. It has also partnered with BNB Chain to accelerate practical stablecoin adoption and enabled Metro to become the first department store in Singapore to accept stablecoin payments. That earlier work was covered when WalletConnect joined dtcpay to accelerate stablecoin payments in Asia .

Regulatory Footing and What Comes Next

dtcpay operates as a MAS-licensed Major Payment Institution in Singapore and holds an Electronic Money Institution license in Luxembourg, a regulatory foundation the company says underpins institutional confidence. The new capital funds a product roadmap through the rest of 2026, including a revamped business portal for enterprise clients and new consumer features inside the dtcpay app. The investment extends SBI Group’s crypto activity, which already includes leading a US$68 million round that valued Fasset at US$1 billion .
