S&P Global announced on September 14 that it has made a strategic investment in Kaiko, the digital asset market data and indices provider, extending the company’s Series B round to $110 million, according to an official press release . The investment, made through S&P Global Ventures, deepens the financial data and index giant’s commitment to digital assets and on-chain markets.

Expanding a Strategic Partnership

The Series B-2 extension builds on an existing collaboration between S&P Global and Kaiko across data, indices and on-chain infrastructure. In March 2026, S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kaiko tokenized the iBoxx U.S. Treasuries Index on the blockchain, which the firms said marked the first time a major index provider made a financial benchmark available as a native digital asset. In early September the two companies combined their crypto index capabilities into a single co-branded S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices suite, purpose-built for global, 24/7 digital asset markets. The investment also comes as Kaiko expands its global footprint after acquiring crypto data providers Amberdata and Cometh, and it now supports more than 250 financial institutions, firms and regulators worldwide.

What Executives Say

“As digital assets accelerate, S&P Global is investing for the future – and this investment underscores that conviction,” said Cathy Clay, chief executive of S&P Dow Jones Indices. She described Kaiko’s data as “foundational transparency for the digital-asset ecosystem,” adding that it turns complex trading and on-chain activity into reliable, decision-ready intelligence. Ambre Soubiran, Kaiko’s chief executive, called the investment “a powerful endorsement of Kaiko’s mission and the role trusted data and data infrastructure will play in tokenized markets.”

Institutional Data for On-Chain Markets

Founded in 2014, Kaiko provides institutional-grade market data, analytics and indices for tokenized and traditional markets, supporting trading, valuation and risk management. The company has previously deepened its institutional footprint through a tie-up with derivatives standards body ISDA on derivatives data . The S&P partnership also follows a string of digital-asset firsts from the data giant, including the industry’s first Stablecoin Stability Assessments, the first credit rating of a DeFi protocol, and the licensing of the S&P 500 for tokenized funds and ETFs. The new investment positions Kaiko to serve institutions moving on-chain at what the company describes as a pivotal moment for the industry.
