Band Protocol, a cross-chain data oracle platform that connects real-world data to smart contracts, today announced that more than 200 token symbols have been successfully tested on Band v3 Testnet.

In its tweet posted on X today, Band Protocol revealed that its v3 testnet effectively tested over 200 token symbols. The event is vital as it highlights the oracle network’s capability to offer diverse, reliable price data.

Band Oracle v3’s upgrade launch

Band protocol owns and runs BandChain, a blockchain that is built on top of the Cosmos SDK. The blockchain is explicitly meant for oracle computation, enabling smart contracts to interact with real-world data effectively and securely.

According to the report, the successful testing of 200+ symbols on the Band v3 testnet shows various implications. First, it highlights the upcoming launch of the Band Oracle v3 in the mainnet in Q3 (in July, August, or September 2025). The v3 testnet testnet ran parallel to the BandChain mainnet.

With the Band Oracle v3’s launch, Band protocol developers and projects can list any preferred token symbols on the BandChain through the Signaling Hub (accessible through Cosmoscan). Projects and developers utilize the Signaling Hub to vote on and recommend which token symbols should be added to BandChain’s data feeds. Staking providers utilized the test to prepare for the token symbols of the Band network. The more Band tokens staked for a particular symbol, the more often validators will give updates on its price data. This consensus approach ensures that the oracle gives data for tokens with high demand.

Bridging the gap

Secondly, this testnet is significant as it confirmed the strength, scalability, and resilience of the Band’s decentralized oracle protocol. It indicates that developers tested the new features and smart contracts associated with Band’s upcoming token symbols and the network upgrades.

The testnet enabled comprehensive experimentation, identifying and fixing any vulnerabilities and bugs before the deployment of the token symbols to the Band Oracle v3. This process helped remove costly errors and potential security vulnerabilities.

Furthermore, the successful testnet event means that developers assessed the blockchain’s performance under different scenarios (like increased symbol demands, high transaction volume, etc.,) to ensure it has the ability to handle real-world demands.

To wrap up, the testnet is significant for BandChain as it assessed its ability to grow its oracle services and efficiently connect a wide variety of other blockchain platforms. In short, the successful testing of over 200 token symbols and multi-chain integrations highlights the blockchain’s preparedness for diverse applications.
