Polygon and Conduit Introduce Agglayer CDK to Power the Next Generation of Web3 Chains

Polygon Main

Polygon Labs, in partnership with Conduit, launched an improved Chain Development Kit (CDK) called AggLayer CDK. The recent release introduces interoperable blockchain infrastructure that allows developers to choose from different technology stacks and automatically connect to Polygon’s AggLayer liquidity aggregation layer.

With the toolkit update, developers can select from OP Stack configurations built using Ethereum’s open-source modular framework. The cdk-opgeth version connects Agglayer directly and runs on the Geth execution client, which supports more than half of the Ethereum network nodes.

Through this architecture, developers have gained a robust and inexpensive execution system that provides transaction speeds exceeding 4,700 transactions per second, along with gas delivery at up to 100 million gas per second.

Security and Sovereignty As The Foundation

One key characteristic of this operation is that developers do not need to pay fees to join their networks with Agglayer. The non-rent-seeking model supports builder independence and provides security thanks to pessimistic ZK proofs. The security measure enables each individual chain to keep the entire system safe from any potential threats to its integrity.

The planned execution proof upgrades will eliminate optimistic rollup’s traditional seven-day transaction withdrawal delay. Succinct’s SP1 system, together with Polygon’s Plonky3 prover, powers this implementation to deliver instant finality while retaining transaction fees at less than half a cent.

Legacy CDK Available For User

The OP Stack option joins an existing lineup of offerings, which includes Polygon’s original CDK Erigon configuration. The version of CDK Erigon operates under Gateway.fm management for building bespoke deployments that support native gas tokens while operating across zkRollup, Validium, and sovereign networks. Experimentation in live environments proved CDK Erigon processed 500 million transactions while achieving near-flawless uptime and reaching up to 1,000 TPS output levels.

Building Toward a Multistack Future

The adoption of multistack solutions by Polygon creates new possibilities for blockchain system interactions across the network landscape. Polygon is actively moving forward with plans to integrate new stack solutions, including Arbitrum Orbit and ABC Stack, alongside others. The strategic transformation allows builders to build with tools that support their development needs across Layer 1, Layer 2, ZK tech, and optimistic rollups.

Through Agglayer CDK, developers gain access to a performance-focused modular framework that prioritizes developer sovereignty and flexibility, along with interoperability to drive Web3 adoption closer to unified decentralization.
