BYTEX , a next-generation agentic trading infrastructure company built by a Singapore-based technology group, has announced the appointment of Diana Pires as Co-Founder. Pires will lead the company’s commercial organisation, institutional partnerships and market strategy as BYTEX moves its open-source software into wider enterprise deployment.

The appointment comes as BYTEX scales an infrastructure layer for AI, agentic and automated trading, starting in digital assets and extending to any market. Pires assumes responsibility for turning the company’s technology into a commercial business, building distribution across institutional client segments and driving expansion into new markets. Her move marks a shift from established global platforms to an early-stage infrastructure company, and BYTEX cited the open-source model as central to her decision: institutions have grown more cautious about handing critical processes to closed third-party systems they cannot inspect.

Pires brings more than seven years in digital assets and financial technology, almost all of it on the commercial side of large global platforms. At Crypto.com, from 2019 to 2022, she ran institutional sales as Vice President — enterprise coverage of professional and institutional trading clients. OKX came before that: an AVP role from 2018 to 2019. The three years in between, 2022 to 2025, she spent advising and consulting for companies across the industry.

Her degrees are a BA (Hons) in English from Brunel University of London and a paused MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency from the University of Nicosia. She is an international speaker at industry events — TOKEN2049, Consensus, Digital Asset Summit NYC — on institutional adoption, governance frameworks for autonomous systems, and women in AI technology and fintech leadership. What BYTEX gains is someone who knows from the inside how the largest platforms sell to institutional clients, onboard them, and keep them. Early-stage infrastructure companies usually learn that the hard way.

“Closed infrastructure is a hard sell right now. Firms want to inspect the software that touches their critical processes, and open-source is the only honest answer to that. For me, it was the deciding factor. BYTEX has spent two years building the engine, and that matters — you can’t build institutional-grade infrastructure overnight” said Pires.

BYTEX has two parts. Core is an open-source, event-driven trading engine under Apache-2.0, where a strategy is a plain document the engine runs deterministically — the same document in backtest, in paper trading, and in live execution, with no rewrite in between. Studio sits on top as a visual layer, so strategies can be built and tested on a canvas rather than written in code. Agentic infrastructure, in plain terms, is what lets an AI agent act inside that system without anyone losing track of what it did: permissions bounding what it may touch, hard limits it cannot exceed, and a record of every decision. Exchange keys stay in files the Studio never opens, and risk controls covering exposure, position and execution limits are part of the engine rather than a setting on top of it.

The appointment lands amid rapid movement toward agentic systems across financial services. Research published in 2026 by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance found that agentic AI is already in active adoption among 52% of financial services industry respondents, with 23% at the more mature scaling or transforming stages. A further 81% of surveyed respondents expect agentic AI to be meaningfully achieved by 2030, making it the clearest growth frontier in the category.

“Adoption is running ahead of the tooling required to support it, and that gap is where BYTEX operates, ” Pires added. “ The next phase is proving that an open foundation can meet institutional standards without asking clients to hand over control of their own systems. The organisations deciding on their agent infrastructure this year are deciding for the next decade.”

Her mandate as Co-Founder covers the commercial organisation, partnerships and distribution, and the company’s push into new markets and client segments — all in service of a single stated goal: one layer for all AI agents, strategies, and global markets.
