DeFi Technologies, the Toronto-based financial technology firm behind the Valour exchange-traded products, said on September 3 that Nasdaq has granted it an additional 180-day compliance period to regain the exchange’s $1 minimum bid price requirement, according to a company announcement . The firm describes itself as bridging traditional capital markets and decentralized finance.
The Nasdaq Notice
The firm said it received written notification from Nasdaq after its common shares, which trade on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker DEFT, had closed below $1 for 30 consecutive business days. DeFi Technologies first disclosed the deficiency on March 5, 2026, and was given an initial 180-day window that expired on September 1, 2026.
It qualified for the second period because it still meets the continued listing requirement for the market value of publicly held shares and all other applicable listing standards, apart from the minimum bid price rule. The notification has no immediate effect on the listing or trading of the shares, which continue to change hands on the exchange as normal.
What Comes Next for DEFT
To regain compliance, the closing bid price of the shares must reach at least $1.00 for a minimum of ten consecutive trading days at any point during the additional period, which runs into early March 2027. DeFi Technologies said it intends to keep monitoring the bid price and will evaluate available options to cure the deficiency.
The company cautioned that there can be no assurance it will regain compliance within the extra window or otherwise maintain Nasdaq’s continued listing requirements. Its shares are also listed on the Cboe Canada exchange under the ticker DEFI, with additional quotes on exchanges in Frankfurt and Brazil.
