Coinbase's negative Bitcoin premium has now lasted for 97 consecutive days, setting a new record.
According to Odaily Planet Daily, the Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index has been in negative premium territory for 97 consecutive days from May 19th to August 23rd, currently standing at -0.0266%, setting a new record for the longest consecutive negative premium since the index's inception. The previous record was 40 consecutive days from January 16th to February 24th this year, also exceeding the approximately 30-day consecutive negative premium period during last year's "1011 crash." This index measures the Bitcoin price difference between Coinbase Pro and Binance. A persistently negative index generally indicates that Coinbase's quotes are relatively low, reflecting weak buying pressure or significant selling pressure in the US market, but it's inappropriate to conclude that institutional funds are flowing out based solely on this indicator.

According to BlockBeats, on August 23, data from CoinGlass showed that the Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index has been in negative premium territory for 97 consecutive days from May 19 to August 23, with the latest reading at -0.0266%, continuing to set a new record for the longest consecutive negative premium since the index was launched.
The previous record was 40 consecutive days from January 16 to February 24 this year, which also exceeded the approximately 30 consecutive days of negative premiums during the "1011 crash" last year.
The Coinbase Bitcoin Premium Index measures the price difference between Bitcoin on Coinbase Pro and Binance. A consistently negative index usually indicates that Coinbase's prices are relatively low, reflecting weak buying pressure or significant selling pressure in the US market. However, it's inappropriate to conclude that institutional funds are flowing out of the country based solely on this indicator.
Liquidation Alert
In the past hour, total liquidations across the network reached $11.69 million, with $10.62 million from long positions, with $1.07 million from short positions. BTC liquidation $229,886.66, ETH liquidation $394,381.75.
The circulating supply of USDC has increased by approximately 800 million coins in the past 7 days.
According to Odaily Planet Daily, in the seven days ending August 20, Circle issued approximately 7.5 billion USDC and redeemed approximately 6.7 billion USDC, increasing the circulating supply by approximately 800 million USDC. The total circulating supply of USDC is 72.7 billion, with reserves of approximately $72.9 billion, including approximately $48.1 billion in overnight reverse repurchase agreements, approximately $12.7 billion in Treasury bonds with maturities of less than three months, approximately $11.4 billion in systemically important institution deposits, and approximately $700 million in other bank deposits.
Altcoins generally retreated, with TAC falling over 40% in the last 24 hours.
