Ondo Finance and the Ondo Foundation, leaders in tokenized real-world assets, have launched Ondo Global Markets. This new platform lets investors outside the U.S. easily access over 100 U.S. stocks and ETFs on Ethereum.
Ondo Global Markets Takes Wall Street On-Chain
Ondo Global markets was previously revealed in February to offer exposure to NYSE and NASDAQ-listed securities, including fixed-income ETFs and individual stocks like Apple and Tesla.
The platform plans to add over 1,000 assets by year-end. The assets are now live on Ethereum, and will soon expand to BNB Chain and Solana, with LayerZero enabling cross-chain interoperability.
Now available to eligible investors in Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America, Ondo Global Markets offers one of the largest gateways to U.S. markets. The platform allows non-U.S. users, both retail and institutional, to mint and redeem tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs instantly, 24/5, with access to real exchange liquidity.
Each token is backed by real shares and cash held with U.S.-registered broker-dealers, ensuring a high level of security. While investors in the U.S. and U.K. are currently excluded, tokens can be transferred peer-to-peer on-chain at any time.
Supported by Top Platforms Like Bitget, Chainlink
Ondo is supported by major wallets, custodians and exchanges including Bitget, Trust Wallet, OKX, Gate, Chainlink, Ledger Live, MEXC, CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap, RWA.xyz and more.
Nathan Allman, Founder and CEO of Ondo Finance, explained the company’s vision:
“We saw stablecoins export the U.S. dollar by bringing it onchain. Now, Ondo Global Markets is doing the same thing for U.S. securities .”
Tokenisation Gaining Ground
Tokenization is now moving beyond just experimentation to wider use.
According to Mc Kinse y, the total market for these tokenized assets could grow to $2 trillion by 2030, excluding stablecoins.
With this move, Ondo joins other companies like Kraken, Robinhood, Bybit, and Gemini in offering tokenized stocks.
Ondo Expands DeFi Capabilities
Ondo is also partnering with Block Street to bring institutional-grade borrowing, shorting, and hedging to DeFi. The platform uses two-way markets, letting users borrow tokenized stocks like AAPLon, NVDAon, and TSLAon with USDT, or borrow USDT against their stocks.
Earlier this year, Ondo introduced Ondo Chain, a blockchain designed for institutional-grade financial markets, though tokenized stocks and ETFs aren’t available on it yet.
In July, Ondo and Pantera Capital revealed a $250 million fund to invest in real-world assets, bridging traditional finance and digital markets.
Ondo Global Markets is setting the stage for a new era in investing by making U.S. markets accessible to users worldwide.
