MASS originated from the paper Proof of Capacity published by MIT Dr. Renling in 2017. At present, the core development team is working remotely in the United States and around the world, and the bottom layer is implemented by Golang. Smart contract and layer2 are expected to be added in the future. Similar to Grin, there is no funding, there is no foundation, currently community driven development like wallet and so on. It is expected that several large mining pools will continue to support community development.
