StaFi is a liquidity release protocol that provides liquidity for pledged tokens in PoS mechanisms. With StaFi, users can pledge tokens and get RTokens as certificates. Users may redeem pledged tokens and rewards at any time by using rToken, or use rToken for trading, placing rToken in third party derivative products, etc., thereby releasing pledged users' token liquidity. There are two main types of tokens on StaFi: rToken and FIS. FIS is StaFi's native token; RToken is the certificate obtained after the user pledges the asset, and its value not only includes the value of the original chain asset, but also covers the original chain pledge and Slash punishment.

To realize the liquidity of pledged assets, StaFi designed a technical architecture composed of the bottom layer, the contract layer and the application layer. The underlying layer is a Substrate based blockchain system for the issuance and circulation of FIS and RTokens. The contract layer creates contracts, which are responsible for the transfer of user assets (including Staking, redemption, etc.). The application layer supports StaFi and third-party protocols to set up application scenarios for rToken.

Up to now, StaFi main network supports 7 kinds of pledge token liquidity release, which are ETH, BNB, FIS, DOT, KSM, ATOM and MATIC. In addition, StaFi has designed a variety of products based on rToken, including rBridge, rPool and Analytics. Among them, the asset cross-chain bridge rBridge already supports cross-chain between StaFi and Ethereum and BSC.
