OpenAI will release GPT-5.6 on June 23, aiming to compete with Claude Fables 5.

According to CoinWorld, OpenAI plans to release its new flagship model, codenamed GPT-5.6, on June 23. The new model will support a context window of 1.5 million tokens, improve the agent programming workflow, and have an API price that is only one-third of Claude Fable 5. The timing of this release is closely linked to the activities of competitor Anthropic, which launched the Claude Fable 5 model on June 9, but it was urgently removed from the platform by the US Department of Commerce on June 12 due to a security vulnerability. Influenced by the release rumors, the probability of OpenAI releasing GPT-5.6 between June 22 and June 28 has currently surged to 78%.
