Odaily Planet Daily reports that US President Trump issued a statement regarding an upcoming tariff case, calling it "one of the most important cases in the history of our nation." In the statement, Trump stated that if the president is not allowed to use tariffs, the United States will be at a "significant disadvantage" in competition with other countries around the world, especially with "major" nations. He claimed that in such a situation, the United States would be "truly defenseless." He stated that during his "nine fortunate months as president," tariffs have brought "enormous wealth and national security." He cited numerous achievements, including the stock market "multiple record highs," "virtually little inflation," and "unparalleled national security." Trump emphasized that tariffs are key to successful negotiations (such as the recent negotiations with China and many other countries), enabling the United States to reach "fair and sustainable agreements." He warned that if the president cannot use tariff powers "quickly and flexibly," the nation could be "devastated." He claimed that opponents include "foreign countries that have taken advantage of us for years," "those who hate our country," and "Democrats," because the (Trump administration's) "numbers are too good to be true." Trump also stated that he will not go to court on Wednesday to avoid "distracting people from the importance of this decision." He reiterated that this "will be one of the most important and influential decisions in the history of the U.S. Supreme Court. If we win, we will be the richest and safest country in the world, by a wide margin. If we lose, our country may be reduced to a near-Third World status."
