ZetaChain’s community vote on migrating its ZETA token to Solana was heading toward approval on September 20, with 99.4% of participating votes supporting Proposal 68 ahead of the ballot’s 14:58 UTC close. The proposal, published on the project’s official blog on September 17, would make ZETA a native SPL token on Solana and eventually wind down ZetaChain’s own Layer 1 network. The move would also carry the team’s private artificial intelligence application onto the same chain.

What the Migration Proposes

Under Proposal 68, ZETA would convert to Solana at a 1:1 ratio while keeping its ticker and total supply unchanged, with no new tokens created. The project said existing vesting schedules would continue on their original dates and that each holder would receive an equivalent balance on Solana, including locked and staked positions and Anuma credits. One technical adjustment involves decimals: native ZETA uses eighteen decimal places, while the proposed Solana token would use nine, with amounts below the supported precision rounded down. ZETA already issued on Ethereum and BNB Chain sits outside the proposal’s scope. ZetaChain also ruled out wrapping the Solana asset against tokens locked permanently on its own chain, arguing a bridge would depend on a network it plans to retire.

Vote Nears Close With Overwhelming Support

ZetaHub’s live governance tally showed 58% participation, clearing the 40% quorum requirement, with 0.3% voting against and 0.3% abstaining. Voting began September 17 and runs for 72 hours, closing at 14:58 UTC on September 20. A passing result does not itself move ZETA or halt the network: it only authorizes core contributors to prepare a second proposal containing the migration mechanism, snapshot height, exchange arrangements and L1 halt schedule. The team said validators would keep validating and users could keep staking until that later vote passes, and that core contributors would first coordinate swap procedures with exchanges that list ZETA.

Anuma Moves With the Token

The migration reaches beyond ZETA. ZetaChain’s private AI application Anuma , which the project says has passed 300,000 users, and its Private Memory Layer would move to Solana alongside the token. ZetaChain framed the shift around cost, saying running its own Cosmos-based Layer 1 no longer helps it build private AI, and pointed to Solana’s sub-second, sub-cent settlement for agent-scale activity. Users lock ZETA inside Anuma to receive credits spent on AI usage. The company described Anuma’s privacy features as descriptions of the app’s design, and said the shape of staking after migration remains under active exploration.
