Bitget in Talks With BlackRock, Wall Street Firms to Expand Distribution in Asia

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the exchange is in active discussions with BlackRock and other major Wall Street firms about expanding distribution of their products into Asian markets, according to an interview with CoinDesk . Chen said she is "talking to all the Wall Street giants to understand where they are coming from and how we could collaborate," and described particularly close communication with BlackRock specifically.

The discussions center on tokenized ETFs and blockchain-based money market products, categories BlackRock has been expanding as part of its broader push into digital asset infrastructure. For BlackRock, Bitget represents a potential distribution channel into a region where crypto adoption has outpaced most of the rest of the world: crypto transactions across Asia grew 69% year-over-year as of June 2025, the fastest growth rate globally, per figures cited in the CoinDesk interview. BlackRock has estimated that even a 1% regional allocation to crypto could generate roughly $2 trillion in new inflows.

Bitget's scale gives the pitch some weight. The exchange counts 125 million registered users worldwide, with roughly half based in East and Southeast Asia, and says 52% of its users already hold both crypto and traditional equities. That overlap is the crux of the argument Chen is making to BlackRock and other prospective partners: crypto exchanges already reach a large base of investors who move between digital assets and traditional stocks, making them a more efficient distribution point than building out separate Asian retail channels from scratch. BlackRock, for its part, confirmed regular engagement with the crypto ecosystem but declined to comment on specific expansion plans.

Nothing here amounts to a signed agreement. Chen's comments describe an exploratory relationship, not a product launch or distribution contract, and BlackRock's own reticence to comment leaves the scope and timeline of any collaboration undefined. But the framing itself is notable: one of the world's largest asset managers is reportedly willing to route its tokenized products through a crypto-native exchange to reach Asian investors, rather than relying solely on the bank and brokerage relationships it has traditionally used to distribute ETFs. If it materializes, it would mark one of the more direct links yet between a systemically important asset manager and a crypto exchange's existing user base.
