BNB Chain, a famous blockchain network, has recently released an official clarification concerning the unlicensed meme token creation. Specifically, the meme coin was linked to a wallet address formerly linked to one of BNB Chain’s former employees.
As per BNB Chain’s X post, the meme token was created amid a video tutorial, and the person responsible for generating it is no longer an employee anymore. After the departure from the company, that person retained access to the wallet-linked seed phrase.
A wallet address was previously created by a former employee, which they then used to generate a token, as part of a video tutorial. That individual is no longer with the company as part of this incident.

BNB Chain Clarifies Distance from Former Employee’s Unauthorized Meme Token
BNB Chain revealed that the individual who has generated an unauthorized meme token is not its employee at the moment. The individual reportedly did this by accessing the wallet -linked seed phrase. Such unauthorized retention permitted the former employee to generate an exclusive private key and then use it autonomously in the case of an exclusive meme token.
While clarifying on this, the platform mentioned that it is not responsible for the creation, authorization, or the promotion of the token’s development. Apart from that, BNB Chain asserted that it does not have control over the new unauthorized meme token’s activity or wallet address.

BNB Chain emphasized that it stays distant from the unauthorized initiative to shield the community from the likely misrepresentation or confusion. At the same time, the firm reiterated that any projects or tokens not formally unveiled via the verified channels thereof should be approached with caution.
According to BNB Chain, the company is also pursuing proper legal action to confront the former employee who was engaged with the creation of the meme token. So, it is cooperating with the authorities to guarantee accountability and protect its infrastructure’s integrity.
