Odaily Planet Daily reports that Novig filed a federal lawsuit on August 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, suing Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul and state gambling administrator John Dillett. Novig anticipates Wisconsin will soon take enforcement action to prevent it from offering sports-related event contracts to state residents. In April, Wisconsin sued platforms including Kalshi, Polymarket, Robinhood, Crypto.com, and Coinbase, alleging that their sports event contracts violated the state's ban on commercial gambling. Novig only began offering contracts to Wisconsin customers a week before filing the lawsuit and is requesting the court to expedite a preliminary injunction to prevent state enforcement.
