Bitcoin Spot ETFs See Continued Net Outflows of $82.39M; Crypto Stocks Plunge Across the Board

Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a single-day net outflow of $82.39 million, with BlackRock's IBIT posting a single-day net outflow of $71.78 million, the largest outflow among all products that day. Related data show that bitcoin spot ETFs remain in a state of continued net outflows. This single-day change directly reflects short-term institutional capital withdrawal and has a significant impact on bitcoin price sentiment and market risk appetite.

In a move that echoed the ETF outflows, U.S. crypto-related stocks plunged across the board. RIOT fell 11.22%, MARA dropped 9.61%, and MSTR declined 9.45%. From the perspective of the composition of these names, the companies cover core categories in the crypto industry chain, including miners and bitcoin treasury companies, and are equity assets highly correlated with bitcoin prices and the health of the crypto market. The broad, sharp declines in multiple core names reflect a contraction in market risk appetite and also show a clear linkage effect between crypto assets and related equity assets.

At the macro level, noteworthy changes have also emerged. Fidelity noted that the correlation between U.S. Treasury yields and bitcoin broke above 0.6, hitting a record high. At the same time, the correlations among U.S. Treasury yields, U.S. federal debt and bitcoin have risen in tandem. These indicators involve multiple dimensions, including macro liquidity, fiscal risk and the bitcoin safe-haven narrative, and institutional analysis of this correlation is considered to have strong extensibility. The rise in correlation indicators provides a new dimension for observing bitcoin's pricing logic in the current macro environment.

Based on disclosed data, there are three mutually corroborating threads. The first is a single-day net outflow of $82.39 million from bitcoin spot ETFs, with BlackRock's IBIT seeing a net outflow of $71.78 million, with outflows concentrated in top products. The second is the broad plunge in U.S. crypto-related stocks, with RIOT down 11.22%, MARA down 9.61% and MSTR down 9.45%, covering miners and bitcoin treasury companies. The third is Fidelity data showing that the correlation between U.S. Treasury yields and bitcoin broke above 0.6 and hit a record high, while the correlations among U.S. Treasury yields, U.S. federal debt and bitcoin rose in tandem. Together, these three data points, from the perspectives of fund flows, equity market sentiment and macro correlation, reflect short-term institutional capital withdrawal and a contraction in risk appetite.

Bitcoin spot ETFs are an important channel for institutional capital to participate in crypto assets, and their net inflows and outflows are typically viewed as a direct indicator for observing institutional attitudes. This time, BlackRock's IBIT recorded the largest outflow among all products, showing that top products are also facing outflow pressure. At the same time, sharp declines in names such as RIOT, MARA and MSTR have further amplified cautious sentiment in the market. It should be noted that this set of data reflects single-day fund flows and short-term price performance and does not yet constitute a trend conclusion; its persistence still depends on verification by subsequent data.

Looking ahead, three areas warrant close attention. First, whether net outflows from bitcoin spot ETFs continue, and changes in the outflow scale of products such as BlackRock's IBIT, will directly affect judgments about institutional capital attitudes. Second, whether U.S. crypto-related stocks, especially miners and bitcoin treasury companies, can regain stability in their share price trends, allowing observation of whether the linkage between crypto assets and the equity market eases. Third, whether Fidelity's tracked correlation indicator between U.S. Treasury yields and bitcoin continues to rise, as well as changes in the correlations among U.S. Treasury yields, U.S. federal debt and bitcoin, will provide a macro liquidity reference. The subsequent evolution of these indicators will help determine whether the short-term institutional capital withdrawal and contraction in market risk appetite are a temporary phenomenon or a more sustained change.
