Circle to Discontinue USDC Support on Noble in CCTP V2 Transition

usdc main

Circle is discontinuing support for USDC and the legacy CCTP V1 protocol on the Noble blockchain , the stablecoin issuer said in a blog post on September 10 , as part of a broader shift to its next-generation cross-chain standard, CCTP V2. New minting of USDC on Noble through Circle Mint will be disabled on October 13, 2026, with redemptions remaining open until January 12, 2027.

Migration timeline and redemption window

Circle Mint customers, retail USDC holders, and non-Circle customers who hold USDC on Noble should migrate to another supported blockchain, the company said. USDC will remain transferable on Noble between October 13, 2026 and January 12, 2027. On that pause date, the Noble USDC contract and CCTP routes will be fully paused, at which point Circle will take a snapshot of remaining USDC balances on Noble and open a manual redemption portal beginning January 13, 2027. To qualify for manual redemption, holders must meet Circle’s compliance and security requirements, hold USDC in a holder-controlled wallet, and have a wallet address captured in the pause-day snapshot.

Why Circle is retiring CCTP V1 on Noble

Circle framed the move as part of its transition to CCTP V2, which it described as a next-generation cross-chain protocol with faster finality and stronger security. Noble will not receive CCTP V2. CCTP V1 burn limits will begin reducing on October 31, 2026, and after December 1, 2026, CCTP exits may be limited to destination chains that continue to support CCTP V1 burns. Circle said it will publish a shortlist of known exit venues, noted that it is not operating its own exit interface, and urged applications that integrated CCTP V1 for Noble to remove it as a route before January 12, 2027.

Cosmos presence continues

The wind-down does not end Circle’s activity in the Cosmos ecosystem. Injective and other IBC-connected chains remain active Circle partnerships, and USDC continues to serve as a settlement asset across Cosmos DeFi broadly, Circle said. The company added that CCTP expansion is ongoing across EVM and non-EVM chains as it works to extend USDC’s reach as what it calls the most trusted, most interoperable digital dollar.
