DoubleZero Adds Kalshi Election Markets to Edge Platform

DoubleZero Foundation said on Sept. 9 that Kalshi’s election and politics markets are now available through DoubleZero Edge, the low-latency market data platform it launched earlier this year. The move extends Kalshi coverage on Edge beyond sports event markets and gives institutional and automated traders a subscription-based feed of order book data for U.S. political markets.

DoubleZero described the launch in an announcement on its website . The election feed delivers Level 1 data, made up of top-of-book quotes and trades, and Level 2 depth-of-book data, letting traders monitor liquidity, generate signals and manage positions around political events.

A low-latency layer for political markets

DoubleZero Edge provides complete market data over the lowest-latency path available and is aimed at artificial intelligence and automated trading systems. The project said firms had previously had to assemble their own book state from API responses, while Edge packages that information as a subscription. An MCP server also lets an agent discover available feeds, request a connection and troubleshoot it without human intervention.

Election volume already tops the 2024 cycle

Trading in U.S. midterm election markets has already surpassed the entire 2024 congressional cycle, with more than $133 million traded on House and Senate races across major platforms as of mid-August, according to the announcement. The midterms are scheduled for Nov. 3. Andy Ross, head of institutional at Kalshi, said election markets give institutions “a real-time, tradable view into how expectations shift as political events unfold.”

Institutional demand builds around political markets

Kalshi, founded in 2018, describes itself as the first regulated exchange for events. The expansion follows efforts by firms such as Cantor Fitzgerald to open Kalshi prediction markets to institutional clients , a sign of growing demand for political markets. Austin Federa, co-founder of DoubleZero, said traditional markets “figured out a long time ago that if the data is late, the trade is dead,” and that prediction markets are starting to matter the same way, especially around elections. Existing Edge users can reach the Kalshi feeds through the same connection they already use. The project said access to complete, consistent market data becomes a data problem as more professional traders and institutions participate in prediction markets.
