According to Odaily, George Cottrell's Polymarket account received two sums of money totaling approximately $9 million in October 2024 from unknown sources. $7 million came from an OKX exchange wallet, and $1.83 million from a ChangeNOW wallet. He almost immediately used these funds to bet on Trump winning the US election, subsequently transferring out approximately $13 million in profits. Cottrell was previously convicted of wire fraud in 2017, related to money laundering and drug trafficking proceeds.
