According to BlockBeats, on July 5th, Serenity stated that there appears to be a shortage of high-power cylindrical battery/BBU cells, which is becoming a potential bottleneck.

Samsung SDI supplies battery cells to Simplo, which then assembles them into battery pack units (BBUs) for companies like Meta and Amazon. With increasing demand from data centers, Samsung SDI's cylindrical battery production has also risen significantly. Citing industry sources, the report states that Panasonic and Samsung SDI are facing a shortage of BBU battery cells.

Serenity believes the main beneficiaries will likely include Samsung SDI, Panasonic Energy, Murata Manufacturing, and LG Energy Solution. Among them, Samsung SDI and Panasonic Energy are the most direct beneficiaries.

He also stated that there aren't many directly relevant targets in the US market, but companies like Vertiv (VRT) and Eaton (ETN) are worth watching. However, all shortages shouldn't be simply equated with having a huge TAM (Total Asset Management), although there may be opportunities within them.
