The issues span most of Colorado's 59 PHAs, with concentration in the Denver Housing Authority HUD provides ~$440 million annually to Colorado PHAs (overseeing 38,000 units), and the audit found at least 221 deceased individuals were given taxpayer-funded housing aid, but it doesn’t stop there, as reports state nearly 3,000 cases may involve fraud tied to shady providers. And you better believe: if this is happening in Colorado, it’s probably happening everywhere blue-state bureaucracy rubber-stamps checks without blinking.
