Robinhood unveiled plans to bring perpetual futures trading on eight cryptocurrencies directly into its app at the HOOD Summit 2026 event in Houston on September 29, marking the brokerage’s most aggressive push yet into crypto derivatives. Eligible U.S. customers will be able to trade perpetual contracts on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Cardano, Chainlink, and Hyperliquid through Robinhood Derivatives and crypto exchange Bitstamp.

Perpetual futures with up to 10x leverage

Positions will carry up to 10x leverage on Bitcoin and Ethereum and 3x on the other six assets, with no expiration dates, and will roll out to eligible customers in the coming months. Robinhood said it will charge one basis point, or 0.01%, per trade through the end of the year, which it described as among the lowest fees in the industry. Traders will be able to set stop-loss and take-profit orders, track their liquidation price in real time, and receive alerts when a position is at risk. For Robinhood, which built its brand on commission-free stock trading, the derivatives push deepens a crypto business that has become a growing share of its revenue. The move also lands as U.S. platforms race into perpetuals: Coinbase Derivatives recently filed to list stock and ETF perpetual futures, while offshore exchanges have long dominated the market.

AI agents and 24/7 markets

Alongside the derivatives launch, Robinhood introduced Robinhood Agents, an embedded AI experience that can analyze markets, build strategies, and trade around the clock, plus Agent Apps from providers including Token Terminal and Nasdaq. Agents draw from a dedicated account, and manual approval of each trade is switched on by default. Since its agentic trading launch in May, more than 150,000 customers have opened accounts, with agents now using Robinhood’s tools nearly 30 million times a day. The company also said weekend equities trading will arrive early next year, pending regulatory review.

Why Robinhood is leaning into derivatives

Chief Executive Vlad Tenev framed the lineup as a bid to become the top venue for active traders. “Ownership doesn’t work without markets, and markets don’t work without traders,” he said. The brokerage, which already runs the Robinhood Chain network , is betting that low-cost crypto derivatives and automated agents can pull volume from established rivals and offshore venues that currently dominate perpetual futures trading.
