Binance , the leading crypto exchange, has broadened access to its bStocks collateral service. The initiative permits eligible consumers, taking into account non-VIP users, to leverage supported tokenized stocks in the form of collateral for margin and futures trading.
As per Binance’s official announcement, the feature previously facilitated users with VIP 3 or higher levels, but it is currently available for eligible Portfolio Margin and Cross Margin accounts alike. Hence, clients can maintain their exposure to diverse tokenized stocks alongside deploying the assets to support their leveraged positions, hedging, and borrowing strategies.
Binance bStocks Collateral Access Expands to Eligible Users for Hedging and Margin Trading
Binance’s expansion of the bStocks collateral service comes after the feature crossed $30B in total trading volume within ninety days following the launch in June 2026. Binance mentioned that the wider collateral functionality focuses on increasing the use of tokenized conventional market-linked assets in its trading network.
Under the broadened system, eligible users can leverage bStocks in line with applicable valuation haircuts, margin requirements, collateral ratios, regulatory safeguards, and account conditions. Thus, users can retain exposure to compatible exchange-traded funds or stocks while utilizing the holdings to back the rest of the trading operations. One of the current use cases takes into account leveraged acquisitions.
Clients can borrow quote assets for the buyout of bStocks via Portfolio Margin or Cross Margin accounts. In this way, they get a notable leverage of nearly 5x based on applicability. This permits eligible users to enhance market exposure without the requirement to fund the whole position with the capital they own, though the resulting positions are still subject to the risk and margin controls of Binance.
Apart from that, the exclusive functionality backs the conversion of stocks into bStocks. Consumers can convert their eligible stocks into cutting-edge tokenized versions, broadening their utility within the crypto network while maintaining eligibility for dividend distributions. The eligible bStocks are completely supported by 1:1 collateral and are convertible to their underlying assets.
Additionally, Portfolio Margin clients can use this functionality for hedging and collateral purposes. For instance, a consumer holding Tesla-linked bStock could simply borrow $USDT against a specific holding while starting a short position for $TSLAUSDT futures at the time of hedging against likely downside.
Strengthening bStocks Use Cases with Exclusive Risk Controls
While discussing this development, Shunyet Jan, the Head of Exchange and Trading at Binance, stated, “The powerful use case is that users do not need to think about tokenized equities and crypto positions as separate portfolios.” The executive added that users can maintain consistent exposure to ETF-linked bStocks parallel to utilizing the same assets in the form of collateral for the management of risk or even pursue tactical opportunities.
In particular, the expansion takes place after notable early activity in the bStocks market of Binance. Compatible products may comprise individual equity-linked assets, ETF-linked products, and sector-focused exposures, covering areas like artificial intelligence, market indices, and technology.
However, accounts crossing Binance’s specified risk threshold may experience provisional restrictions, which are eliminated after the respective account moves back to an allowed risk level. Users with VIP 3 and higher ranks are exempt from such extra controls.
