Odaily Planet Daily reports that prediction market operator Kalshi issued a cease and desist letter to Netflix on July 24, accusing the company of defamation in the trailer for its new documentary, "Instadocs: The Prediction Games," and demanding its removal and public correction before the film's premiere on July 26. Kalshi claims the trailer used a forged transaction slip implying it permitted sports betting in Nevada, violating a state court order. The company stated that the receipt in the footage is dated May 16, 2025, and the phone screen displays "crop," which is inconsistent with its platform's design. Netflix denies forging the footage, stating that the transaction occurred in May 2025, before Nevada restrictions took effect, and the scene was filmed at a private event in Las Vegas. Nevada regulators have demanded that Kalshi complete its geofencing deployment by August 12, or face a penalty of $120,000 per day.
