Starting September 8th, eligible existing creators can apply to join the new original content rewards program. The new program will distribute revenue based on the "effective exposure" generated by original content (visible from the X Premium user homepage feed and at least 50% visibility of posts), with the first payment for the new program expected to be issued on August 28th.

Eligibility requirements include: being 18 years of age or older, having a good account status, subscribing to X Premium or Premium+, having at least 500 verified followers, and having received at least 500,000 exposures in the homepage feed of verified users in the past 90 days, while also continuously publishing original content.

X emphasized that the new plan will primarily reward original writing, threads, reports, analyses, videos, images, design works, and commentary with unique value. Simply reposting or copying content from other platforms, secondary publishing lacking substantial analysis, and content relying on automated tools to generate interaction will not be eligible for rewards.

X stated that in the future, the focus will be on supporting creators who can bring unique perspectives, expertise, and creativity to the platform.
