BlockBeats reported on August 12th that Harmony has suspended its cross-chain bridge service due to a security incident and is requiring all validators to immediately upgrade to the latest patch. Harmony stated that the patch will prevent further token minting, and a new update will be released later to handle tokens that have already been minted.

In addition, Harmony stated that it has requested all trading platforms to block and freeze funds traceable to four related wallet addresses.

As previously reported, Harmony experienced another security incident today. On-chain analysis suggests that Harmony was likely attacked by an empty block vulnerability, allowing attackers to unauthorizedly mint approximately 4 billion ONE tokens, representing about 26% of the current supply. Of these, approximately 2.8 billion ONE tokens were subsequently transferred to trading platforms, creating significant selling pressure in the market. As a result, the price of ONE plummeted by half during the day.

According to BlockBeats, on August 12th, Nvidia, together with Wall Street giants such as Apollo, Blackstone, BlackRock, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs, and KKR, planned a funding round of up to $500 billion for AI infrastructure, which is becoming a new focus of market discussions on the AI market. Compared to the previous trading logic revolving around GPU demand, data center construction, and cloud vendor capital expenditures, this news has prompted investors to re-examine the next layer of the AI cycle: while computing power demand continues to grow, the funding needed to build this computing power will increasingly rely on Wall Street.

The market's optimistic interpretation is that this financing arrangement will alleviate concerns about the funding sources of AI customers. Institutions such as Bank of America and Morgan Stanley believe that by introducing third-party capital, Nvidia will not need to rely excessively on its own balance sheet to support customer expansion, and it will also help alleviate accusations of "supplier financing" or "circular transactions." For Nvidia, this is equivalent to opening up longer-term funding channels for customers, thereby continuing to support their needs for GPUs, network equipment, rack systems, and data center construction.

The beneficiaries are not limited to Nvidia. Market discussions suggest that this funding is more likely to flow to emerging cloud service providers like CoreWeave and Nebius, as well as customers with high computing power needs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX, rather than large-scale cloud vendors like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google with already strong balance sheets. This means that AI infrastructure transactions may further expand from "capital expenditures of giant cloud vendors" to the financing capabilities of neoclouds and non-listed AI labs.

However, caution is also growing. Some argue that the $500 billion scale itself indicates that AI infrastructure is entering a deeper stage of financial engineering. In the future, the market will be more concerned with GPU residual value, lease contract quality, customer cash flow, computing power utilization, and whether these AI assets can generate sufficient revenue to cover financing costs. BofA Credit has previously warned that similar structures may bring more complex interest rate spreads and residual value risks.

This explains the market reaction after the news was released: Apollo, Blackstone, and other asset management and private lending companies saw significant buying, neoclouds performed relatively actively, while Nvidia's stock price reacted more restrainedly. The market has not denied the AI theme, but is shifting its focus from "whether there are enough chips" to "where the money will come from and who will bear the risks."
