Mysterium

Mysterium is a decentralized blockchain-based virtual private network (VPN), Anyone can use it to connect to the Internet securely and privately. Mysterium allows anyone with free bandwidth to join the network as a VPN node provider and receive MYST tokens as a reward. To allow the system to scale, transactions will be processed through a decentralized micropayment system the platform calls CORE.

Until today, the Internet is neither open nor private. Large corporate entities are increasingly self-styled gatekeepers of the network, resulting in Internet services operating mostly as centralized services. The problem with this trend is that users become the subject of massive data collection. There are huge financial benefits to be made from selling browsing data, but intrusive online surveillance strategies put our security at risk.
