The Open Network

TON is a PoS layer 1 network. It is capable of unlimited sharding and millions of TPS, hosting billions of users, smart contracts, and decentralized applications. TON is able to tap into other blockchains and connect them to each other using the original HyperCube technology. 
 In addition to the TON public chain, TON developed storage, sites, and DNS services to complete the network, enabling different blockchain fragments within the network to communicate with each other and access websites and files. 
TON's goal is to be a Web3.0 network that includes decentralized storage, I2P networks, instant payments, and highly accessible decentralized applications. 
Telegram started the project in 19, but discontinued in June 2020. Since then, the network has been supported by TON's open source community.
