Bitcoin 2 is a scalable, energy-efficient cryptocurrency that supports instant transactions. Open Source - Fast - Custom Time Tested Proof of Stake Algorithm. Long-term goal: In-wallet decentralized exchange and real-world usage. History: Work on Bitcoin 2 started shortly after the release of Bitcoin Cash because we knew we could improve Bitcoin further, but not directly. We don't want to rush out a fork with simple changes like Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, etc. Instead, we made major changes to Bitcoin even before announcing our project. By the time we were ready to announce our fork, there had been many more bitcoin forks with simple changes. At launch, all Bitcoin holders as of February 5, 2018 received BTC2 at a 1-to-1 rate. The balance, addresses, and supply of Bitcoin 2 are set to be the same as Bitcoin. 15 months after the Bitcoin 2 mainnet went live, the fork claim is no longer supported, so most of the supply is locked.
